I was so excited to find coconut flour in my boyfriend’s pantry, you have no idea! So, of course, I took it. However, I did bring him some treats the next day!
Coconut flour is gluten free and is a great healthy alternative to other flours. It is many health benefits, such as high fiber, full of healthy fats, low in sugar and calories. It is great to use if you are paleo, gluten free or have digestive issues. It contains a large amount of healthy saturated fats. these fats are easily used by the body for energy so they can support a healthy metabolism. It has a low glycemic index so it does not spike blood sugar levels.
It is made from dried coconut meat ground up, so obviously it is delicious. I made coconut flour brownies! check them out below:
1/2 cup minus 2 tbsp coconut flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup agave
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup chocolate chips
preheat the oven to 350 F. Mix all ingredients together. Grease baking dish 8×9 inch (I used 3 five inch heart pans). Bake for 15-18 minutes. Let cool and Enjoy!
