Moringa Icecream

Moringa monday... my favorite day of the week! we decided to make moringa icecream today and it is delicious. It is creamy and has a slight taste of moringa.

2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 pinch salt
6 large egg yolks
3 tablespoons moringa tea
1 tsp moringa powder

Add cream, milk, sugar and salt to a pot and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Whisk egg yolks in a bowl and slowly stream the milk mixture into the bowl. Keep whisking so the eggs don’t scramble. transfer the egg mixture back into the pot and add the moringa tea bags. Cook over low-medium heat and stir frequently with a wooden spoon. remove the mixture from the stove once the mixture thickens. It will be a custard-like texture. allow the tea to steep for 5 more minutes. Add the moringa powder. cover the mixture and refrigerate for 4 hours. Churn according to the icecream manufacturers instructions.
